The Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Bielefeld and the Institute of Mathematical Stochastics of the University of Münster has the following job opening:

Research Position  

ID: Wiss20529 / Fulltime (50 % Bielefeld/50 %Münster) / temporary / Salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L

We are seeking for a candidate for the position of a postdoctoral researcher starting as soon as possible

Your Tasks
The position is funded within the SPP 2265 “RandomGeometric Systems” with a duration of up to 36 months.
The successful candidate will join the research activities of the groups of Matthias Erbar in Bielefeld and Martin Huesmann in Münster and contribute to the project "Optimal transport forstationary point processes". This includes research on optimal transport problems in infinite-dimensional spaces, stochastic point processes and functional equations. The candidate is expected to spend about 1/2 of the time in either of both research groups. The employment is designed to encourage further academic qualification.

Your Profile
We expect

  • scientific degree in mathematics or a related field (e. g. physics etc.)
  • PhD in mathematics
  • strong mathematical background in analysis and/or probability theory
  • good English skills (written and oral)
  • independent, self-reliant and dedicated style ofwork
  • strong organizational and coordination skills
  • ability to cooperate and to work in a team

We offer

  • Salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L
  • temporary up to 36 months (§ 2 (1) sentence 2of the WissZeitVG; in accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases)
