The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Lancaster University is inviting applications for an 24 month Postdoctoral Research Associate position on the project "Permutations with random cycle weights and Bose-Einstein condensation", funded by the Leverhulme Trust, see

You will be expected to hold or be about to receive a PhD degree in mathematics or a related discipline. You should also have experience with one or more of the following topics: random permutations, loop models or quantum spin systems. You should also have a demonstrable ability to both carry out and publish academic research in pure mathematics. Further, you will be expected to work independently and in collaboration, engage with new ideas, and contribute new insights. 

The position comes with some travel/collaboration funding and carries no teaching duties.

The position will start on 1 October 2022, or at the earliest possible time thereafter. The interview will take place in August.
