Research Assistant - 0.75 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen This research position is situated within the project A12 "Ropelength for Periodic Links", which is part of the Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 109 "Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics", funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation). Faculty II - Institute of Mathematics / Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 109 Reference number: II-226/17 (starting at the earliest possible / until 30 june 2020 / closing date for applications 26/05/17) Working field: Research in differential geometry, in particular on energy minimizing embeddings of knotted, linked and woven, curves. Requirements: Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. Thorough expertise in geometry is a prerequisite. We expect you to work independently on a high academic level. A good command of the English language is necessary. An interest in applications of differential geometry would be preferable. Experience in programming.
