Within the context of a generational change and an expansion of the courses and programs in Computer Science, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Cologne would like to renew and strengthen its competences in the areas of Parallel and Distributed Computing, Machine Learning and Software Engineering. Therefore, we invite applications for three professorships to be filled at the earliest possible date.

2) Professorship W2 with TT W3 in Computer Science

3) Professorship W1 with TT W2 in Computer Science

Call for 2) and 3) is part of the Federal Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States. It addresses researchers at an early career stage. The duties of the professorships include active participation in teaching responsibilities and in courses offered by our department for other departments and faculties as well as in the academic selfadministration. In the area of teaching, this applies particularly to computer science courses and participation in the programs in Mathematics and Economathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences as well as the Information Systems programs of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. Since the department’s bachelor-courses are held in German, the applicants are expected either to speak German or to be willing to learn it in an appropriate time frame.
