The Faculty of Mathematics of the Technical University of Chemnitz invites applications for a

W2-Professorship in Analysis with Tenure-Track to W3 (m/f/d)

to be filled by October 1, 2021 with an initial six-year fixed-term appointment. This call is part of Germany’s Joint Federal and State Program for the Promotion of Young Researchers (Tenure-Track Programm) and is aimed at scientists in an early phase of their career. Candidates should have held research positions outside of the institution from which they obtained their doctorate or held research positions outside of the TU Chemnitz for at least two years.

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding achievements and potential in research as well as international recognition within the field of mathematical analysis, and by his inclination towards pure mathematics complement and strengthen the department’s active research areas functional analysis, harmonic analysis, approximation theory, partial differential equations, algebra and geometry. Strong candidates are desired to have a record of acquiring external funding and exhibit willingness for interdisciplinary collaboration.

The responsibilities of this position include the representation of the subject of analysis in research and teaching within the Faculty of Mathematics, which includes participation in mathematics service teaching for students of degree programs in the natural and engineering sciences as well as mathematics training for primary school teachers.
