There are vacancies for two posts, both of which are fixed-term for two years and funded by the Simons Collaboration (SC) on Special Holonomy in Geometry, Analysis, and Physics: https://sites.duke.edu/scshgap
The Research Associates will work with the PI, Professor Simon Salamon, on some aspect of manifolds with special holonomy, and are expected to have the background to begin or continue research in this area immediately. They are expected to play an active role in SC activities and to participate and, as appropriate, attend its regular workshops.
Applicants should have the award of PhD in mathematics by the start date, and the ability to combine research in differential geometry with one or more related areas including, but not limited to, algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, geometric analysis, representation theory, and theoretical physics.
