The Collaborative Research Centre 1442 Geometry: “Deformations and Rigidity” in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Postdoctoral Research Associate
(salary level TV-L E 13, 100%)
to commence at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term full-time position for 3 years. Currently, the regular full employment time is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week.
The position is in Hans-Joachim Hein's CRC-project B05 “Scalar curvature in Kähler geometry”. The general topic of this project is the formation of singularities of sequences of Kähler metrics with constant or bounded scalar curvature. This will be approached from the point of view of degenerate elliptic PDEs and analysis on singular spaces.
The successful candidate will benefit from the stimulating environment and facilities of the Cluster of Excellence "Mathematics Münster: Dynamics – Geometry – Structure".
- this position facilitates the acquisition of further scientific competences and is tied to working towards a Habilitation
- collaboration in research and teaching
- independent research
- Candidates must have completed, or be about to complete, their PhD in a subfield of Geometric Analysis.
- A strong working knowledge of elliptic PDEs and Riemannian geometry is required.
- Experience with one or more of the following would be desirable: complex/Kähler manifolds, Monge-Ampère equations, symmetry reductions of geometric PDEs, analysis on noncompact or singular spaces, gluing constructions.
- Good English communication skills are required.
Your application should include a cover letter, your CVs (including the grade received for the PhD dissertation, if applicable), a publication list, and a research plan related to the themes of the CRC project B05 “Scalar Curvature in Kähler Geometry”.
Applicants who have not yet completed their PhD are asked to include a two-page outline of their dissertation project including the results as they currently stand.
Please arrange for at least two letters of recommendation to be sent, before the application deadline, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
