The Department of Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics of Ghent University is opening a position Assistant professor tenure track in Scientific computing. The candidate's research may be interdisciplinary in orientation but mathematical in nature 
(with an emphasis on applied mathematics), and involves the analysis of advanced computational techniques to answer complex scientific questions. The candidate's expertise can match or be complementary to the expertise already present in the department. 

Requirements to apply: candidates should hold a thesis-based doctorate and have at least two years of postdoctoral experience on 1 September 2024.  The successful candidate is also expected, within a period of five years after the appointment, to learn Dutch and to provide teaching in Dutch. Our university offers support to reach this goal.

The mandate is awarded for a term of five years. Upon favourable evaluation at the end of this period, the position will be converted into a permanent position of associate professor (in Dutch: "hoofddocent").
