The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Institute of Mathematics, at Goethe University Frankfurt is looking to fill a position as a

 

Research Assistant (m/f/d)

(E 13 TV-G-U, 75% part-time)

 

in the newly-established Emmy Noether Research Group „Geometric functional inequalities and their stability“ led by Dr. Tobias König and funded by the DFG. The expected starting date is 01.10.2025. The position is limited to 3 years. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U).

 

You are expected to cooperate in research projects relevant to the focus of the research group. You will be given the opportunity to carry out independent research, in particular to work on a PhD thesis.

 

Hiring requirements:

  • completed scientific diploma or master's degree with very good examination in the field of mathematics

  • substantial knowledge of relevant areas of mathematical analysis, e.g. calculus of variations, nonlinear PDE, geometric analysis

  • Previous experience about the stability of functional inequalities would be excellent.

  • good knowledge of the English language; German is desirable, but not necessary
