One PhD or Postdoc position at the interface of discrete mathematics and algorithms is available at the University of Kassel (Institute of Mathematics). Applicants with a strong background in combinatorics (graph theory, order theory, discrete geometry), algorithms, discrete optimization and/or algebra are encouraged to apply. The position is advertised openly, as we seek either one PhD student or one Postdoc (depending on the strength of the applicants), to complement our research group, which currently consists of 1 PhD student and 2 Postdocs (https://www.uni-kassel.de/fb10/institute/mathematik/arbeitsgruppen/algorithmische-algebra-und-diskrete-mathematik/prof-dr-torsten-muetze/team).

The starting date is August 01, 2025, but somewhat flexible, and the position is for 3 years, with the possiblity of extension by 1 additional year.
