The Department of Statistics and Data Science at MBZUAI focuses on the rigorous statistical and probabilistic foundations of machine learning and data science. Our current research includes areas such as statistical learning theory, high-dimensional statistics, causal inference, uncertainty quantification, fairness and interpretability in AI.
