The Financial and Actuarial Mathematics Group (FAM, https://fam.tuwien.ac.at/) of the TU Wien (Vienna, Austria), is offering a position as University Assistant Prae-Doc (PhD Student) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week.
Expected start: October 2025.

Tasks:

1. Research on mathematical finance leading to a dissertation and publications,
2. Collaboration on research and teaching tasks,
3. Participation in scientific events,
4. Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

1. Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in mathematics, or a related field (e.g., computer science or theoretical physics with a strong background in relevant mathematical topics) until the time of occupation
2. Experience in the following scientific fields: mathematical finance, probability theory, stochastic analysis
3. Good English skills
4. German skills would be an advantage
