Primary Purpose of the Position

The position of Lecturer will be responsible for carrying out teaching, research, governance and community outreach/professional service duties in the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics (SMAS).

This position will be required to teach and supervise students, conduct tutorials, demonstrations, workshops and deliver lectures and seminars.

This position will have research experience in any field of mathematics, with priority being given to candidates with research strength in PDEs/Differential Geometry, Financial Mathematics or Optimisation.

 

Essential Criteria

• Completed PhD in the Mathematical Sciences discipline

• Demonstrated research track record and research potential

• Demonstrated teaching capacity

• Demonstrated skills/knowledge/experience relevant to the field

• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels in the University

• Demonstrated capacity to participate in Governance and Service activity

• Excellent communicational skills
