Two PhD positions are available from September 2017, within the research
program on Hydrodynamic Limits and Equilibrium Fluctuations:
universality from stochastic systems:
The candidate must have the master degree in Mathematics or Physics by
the 1st September 2017, otherwise the candidate will be considered
excluded from the competition.
Exceptional cases can be considered for students who do not have a
master degree on those topics, but they should have the bachelor degree
(also in one of those topics) by the 1st September 2017.

extension up to 48 months).
The fellowships are funded by the European Research Council starting
grant HyLEF of Patrícia Gonçalves.
The PhD fellows will be working in one of the following topics:
- Derivation of hydrodynamic limits
- Universality of the KPZ equation from microscopic systems
- Universality classes of systems with several conservation laws
at the Mathematics Department of Instituto Superior Técnico of the
University of Lisbon:
The PhD fellow will receive a salary of 1200€ per month plus 150€ per
