The Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics invites applications for a

Full Professorship (W3) of Applied Mathematics (Chair)

commencing on April 1, 2019.

The chair is part of the Analysis, Mathematical Physics and Numerics group within the Department of Mathematics. Preference will be given to mathematical analysts with an established research record in partial differential equations, mathematical physics or other areas of applications. Cooperation with other research groups within the Department is encouraged. Successful candidates will be expected to initiate and participate in a follow-up program for the collaborative research center SFB-TR 12. Participation in the general teaching duties of the Department of Mathematics is expected. Participation in the Elite-Master-Program Theoretical and Mathematical Physics is highly desirable.

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification, teaching skills at university level, excellent academic achievements and a productive and promising research program.
