The Institute for Mathematical Stochastics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Göttingen invites applications for a

Scientific staff member (all genders welcome)

This position should be filled by April 01, 2020 or later. The current regular working load will be 39,8 hours per week (full-time) with a permanent contract. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (E 14 TV-L).

Job description: It is expected that the candidate actively participates in teaching at the Institute for Mathematical Stochastics. This includes statistical lab courses and lectures and seminars within the scope of teaching responsibilities to be performed by the Institute for Mathematical Stochastics as well as courses offered by the faculty for other teaching units. The total amount of teaching is 8 semester hours per week. Further, the job holder is expected to carry out independent research projects related to the scientific focus of the Felix Bernstein Chair for Mathematical Statistics (Prof. Dr. A. Munk) and to participate in the planning and application for research projects. In particular, there is the opportunity for further academic qualification.

Applicants demonstrate their qualifications in research and teaching associated with the position through excellent publication activity, a master's degree and a doctorate in the field of mathematical statistics, probability theory or a related field.
