The Faculty of Mathematics at TU Dortmund University is seeking to fill the position of a
Professor (W1) with W2 tenure track in "Optimization"
commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate will represent the field of "Optimization" in research and teaching.
TU Dortmund is seeking a scientist holding an excellent PhD and a personality who is internationally recognized in several areas of continuous or discrete optimization with relevant international publications in recognized venues, including those with peer-review. Relations are expected both to infinite-dimensional optimization as well as mixed-integer optimization and the willingness to link both areas.
Applicants should complement the research activities of the Faculty of Mathematics and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborative research projects within and outside TU Dortmund University.
First experience in raising third-party funds is an asset. A convincing research statement outlining the applicants research perspectives is required.
An appropriate contribution to the faculty’s curriculum – in the medium term also in German language – is expected. The present Faculty's study programmes include Mathematics, Technomathematics, Mathematics and Economics as well as Mathematics for teaching at schools.
The successful candidate will possess social and leadership skills and be willing to be involved in academic self-governance.
